The September event series of the 2026 NYCU Sustainability Year is officially kicking off!
Under the September theme, “Sustainability in Action: Medical Waste Regeneration,” a series of sustainability events will be held throughout the month, covering social impact, circular design, hands-on practices, and sustainable healthcare. We invite the entire NYCU community to explore sustainability from different perspectives and take part in creating meaningful change.
Our first two events are coming up!
Want to learn how the “impact” of sustainability initiatives can be identified and measured? Or would you like to create your own unique wooden piece and experience the warmth of handmade design? Join us!
1. Sep. 8 (Tue.), 14:00–16:00 | SROI Social Impact Management Lecture
Sustainability is not only about how much we do, but more importantly, what changes we create.
We are pleased to invite Mr. Yung-Chuan Ko, an expert in social impact assessment and management in Taiwan, to share how the social value generated by a project can be identified, measured, and managed.
If you are involved in USR, SDGs, ESG, social engagement, or other sustainability-related projects, this is an excellent opportunity to gain practical insights into social impact management.
Venue: International Conference Hall A, Library, Guangfu Campus
Time: Sep. 8 (Tue.), 14:00–16:00
Registration: Register for the SROI Lecture
2. Sep. 10 (Thu.), 15:00–18:00 | Woodcraft Living Lab: The Warmth of Handmade Design
Sustainability can also begin with our hands and everyday life.
Co-organized with the Hsinchu City Government, this workshop will be led by Mr. Ming-Yi Shen of POP Workshop. Starting with the art of woodcraft, participants will explore design concepts, material applications, and woodworking hand-tool techniques, and create their own healing wooden charm, experiencing the warmth of handmade design and the beauty of craftsmanship in everyday life.
Venue: Co-Creation Base (EA101), 1F, Engineering Building I, Guangfu Campus
Time: Sep. 10 (Thu.), 15:00–18:00
Free admission. Limited spots available on a first-come, first-served basis! Registration: Register for the Woodcraft Workshop
